What Are We?

Introvert/Extrovert was started in 2014 as the brainchild of Al Motter and Johnathan Martinez.  The goal was to introduce people to themselves in an entertaining way that people hadn’t done, all while helping the general public better understand each other.  Since then the podcast has grown to thousands of listeners and eventually the website you are now enjoying was born, simply as a way to expand the medium of the ideas being put forth.  The podcast covers a broad range of topics with a central theme of self reflection while using personal anecdotes and experiences to add a unique perspective.  For media inquiries or to get more information, please complete the contact form on the ‘Contact Us’ page or send an email to introextropod@gmail.com

Who Are We?

Johnathan Martinez

Johnny is a left handed computer engineer originally from LA now living in the Bay Area.  Despite the occupation Johnny is very extroverted and has an insatiable passion to make people laugh and loves pointing out the absurdity of the human condition.  Growing up surfing in Southern California, he has had an eclectic mix of jobs and titles to get to where he is, including being an online writer, carpenter, owning a screen printing company and being an eBay and Amazon top seller.  The real passion in his life is freedom from the 9 to 5, and the ability to travel and be creative, while still producing content to help people dealing with themselves and the people around them.

Al Motter

Al is a tutor/education consultant in San Jose, CA. He attended SFSU around the turn of the millennium and earned a Bachelors in Psychology (Human Sexuality) and a Masters in Developmental Psychology (Adolescent Development and Inferential Statistics).

Al is very introverted and spends a lot of time in his room or office learning and writing, but he likes to pop out daily to tell others what he has found out. This need to share with others has lead him to be given the title of Introvert Guide and he spreads his knowledge through written and audio form as much as possible. Al and Johnny are friends that probably never would have met except that they shared a house. But now that they know each other, Johnny is one of the best reasons for Al to go outside and they share their conversations on the podcast. This is the only professional picture that all has and it resulted from him asking the photographer for the cheesiest pose she could think of.
